Trains operate every 30 minutes all day, every day, between Redditch and Birmingham New Street, then continuing to Four Oaks and

Opened by the
Midland Railway , it became part of theLondon, Midland and Scottish Railway during the Grouping of 1923. The station then passed on to theLondon Midland Region of British Railways onnationalisation in 1948.The establishment of Passenger Transport Executives saw
British Railways run trains on behalf of the West Midlands PTE, a process which continued when Sectorisation was introduced in the 1980's. The station was operated by theRegional Railways sector on behalf of the West Midlands PTE. until the Privatisation of British Railways. As a PTE station it has run trains under the marketing labels of Centro and
Network West Midlands .When the Cross-city line was upgraded and electrified in
1993 the platform at Alvechurch was resited slightly to the north. The result of this is that as soon as the old platform ends the new one begins. The former station building is now in private ownership.References
