nihongo|"Dynasty Warriors"|三國無双|Sangokumusō is a fighting game developed and published by KOEI. It was released on December 1, 1997 for the PlayStation. Unlike the later games in the series, "Dynasty Warriors" is a fighting game. The graphics are similar to "Tekken".

In Japan, the game was released as "Sangokumusō", however, the next installment "Dynasty Warriors 2" was completely different from the original "Dynasty Warriors", as a result "Dynasty Warriors 2" has been entitled in Japan as "Shin Sangokumusō", while it was released as "Dynasty Warriors 2" in North America, leading to the discrepancy in title numbers.

The fighting system in "Dynasty Warriors" is fairly complex. All combat is weapon-based, and controlling one of several famous characters from "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", the player's aim is to parry the enemy's strikes with considerable timing and recognition, leaving the enemy vulnerable to attack.

Dynasty Warriors does not feature as many stages as subsequent Dynasty Warriors Games. Stages all start off with The Yellow Turban Rebellion. The stages are in Morning, Noon and Dusk. No edit mode is available. The next game in the series, "Dynasty Warriors 2", is a great departure in genre and style.
