El Templo Mayor, in the JVC complex, will be a multi-use venue that will be used mostly for football matches and will host the home matches ofClub Deportivo Guadalajara S.A de C.V., mostly known as Chivas. It will have very high quality standards. The stadium will have a capacity of 45,500 people.The stadium was planned to open in
January 2009 but due to excessive rain the opening date has been pushed back to lateFebruary or earlyMarch . Construction officially started inFebruary 2004 .Location
Its located in the northwest of the metropolitan zone of
Guadalajara . Corresponds to the Municipality ofZapopan , Plastered. To the west, abuts with The Spring, a forest of 30,500 respected hectares as the most important lung of the Metropolitan Zone of Guadalajara.The Chivas Stadium is part of the Center of Culture, Conventions and Business JVC.
The main entrance is found projected by the peripheral ring, that communicates easily with any highway or extreme of the metropolitan area of Guadalajara.
The location coincides with Avenue Vallarta, the most important axis east-west of the city and the direct way to the Historic Center.
