co-educational , seniorhigh school and flagship campus for theNorthern Beaches Secondary College . Although the Campus is located within the suburb of Harbord, the school takes the name from the nearby suburb of Freshwater. The Campus was first used in Term 2 of the school year in 2003, when the students of the newly-formed campus moved from the previous
Beacon Hill Technology High School site into the Campus, which was still in the final stages of construction.Freshwater has an enrolment of around 550 and has around 50 teaching staff. Students enrol at Freshwater for the final two years of high school, Years 11 & 12. Typically, Freshwater takes it's students from the
Cromer Campus and other campuses of the Northern Beaches Secondary College. The school has implemented a number of programs designed to aid in the pastoral care of it's students. All enrolled students meet regularly in small groups with an assigned teacher as a mentor. These small groups are approach and discuss issues of late adolescent development, study skills, transition from school to work or tertiary study and other issues of importance to students. The site began life as Manly Girls High School, as sister-school to Manly Boys High School, now
Manly Selective Campus . It later became co-educational Freshwater High School during the 1990s until reconstruction and reestablishment in 2002 and 2003.References
