Fred Chapman

Fred Chapman, born Frederick Joseph Chapman, (24 November 1872 – 14 December 1957) was the youngest professional baseball player in the United States when he played in his only professional game, at the age of 14 years 240 days, on July 22, 1887 for the Philadelphia Athletics.

Chapman was born in Little Cooley, Pennsylvania, batted and threw right-handed. He was 5 feet 8 inches (173 cm) tall and weighed 165 pounds (75 kg). He died in Union City, Pennsylvania.
