J. L. Reveal

James Lauritz Reveal (born 1941- ) is a botanist, professor emeritus at the Norton Brown Herbarium, Maryland (see his [http://www.life.umd.edu/emeritus/reveal/pbio/WWW/cvjlr.html cv] ).

He is perhaps best known for his work on suprageneric names, presented in an extensive [http://www.life.umd.edu/emeritus/reveal/pbio/fam/inspvindex.html website] , which also presents material on [http://www.biologie.uni-hamburg.de/b-online/systems/ plant taxonomy] , including several systems of plant taxonomy (among which the Reveal system). However, he also has published extensively on the North American flora and he is a member of the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group (that is, he is a contributing author for APG II).
