Inspector 1 Gina Gold was a fictional character in the ITV drama "The Bill". She was portrayed by Roberta Taylor. Her callsign is 'Sierra Oscar 1'. She first appeared on "The Bill" on 27 June 2002. Gold was known for her 'iron fist', which led PC Emma Keane to lead a bullying allegation against Gold. Gina was one of the well known members of the Bill crew, having been on the programme for many years. Gina wanted Sgt.Dale 'Smithy' Smith, to take over her position as Inspector at Sun Hill, but her opinion didn't count as, Superintendent John Heaton, the Station's Commander, already checked with all of the Uniform Sergeants, Sergeant Callum Stone, Sergeant Nikki Wright, Station Police Sergeant Dale Smith and Sergeant Rachel Weston if they wanted to take the position, Stone wanted to stay on the front line with the Constables, Nikki died a while after due to a stab wound by an undercover officer, Smith had the position of Actng Inspector, once before and did not take to it.And that leaves Weston, who was only promoted due to the fact that no body else wanted the job.
