(2005)"The Unseen" is the debut album by Quasimoto, an
alter ego of producerMadlib .Release history
The album was conceived and recorded by Madlib during a week long
psilocybin mushroom binge. [ [http://www.stonesthrow.com/quasimoto/reup.html Stones Throw Records] ]Upon its release in 2000, the album was received with very little attention. Many fans and critics were confused by the albums absurd and abstract nature. As the album became older, however, people became more accustomed to the style and sounds Madlib commonly evokes.
It was rereleased in 2005 as a Deluxe Edition with a bonus CD containing the instrumental version of the album.
Reviews
"The Unseen is a scorched chocolate coated valley scattered with 'shrooms and smoker's debris that astro-travels way beyond the unchartered hinterlands of Hip-Hop, not unlike De La's
3 Feet High and Rising once did." -Dan Stacey [ [http://www.stonesthrow.com/quasimoto/sleazenation.html Stones Throw Records ] ]Jazz Cats Pt. 1
