website_name = www.queenmaryshigh.org.ukQueen Mary's High School, situated on Upper Forster Street, just outside of
Walsall town centre, is an all-female selective education school and entry in Year 7 is by passing an entrance exam. It is twinned withQueen Mary's Grammar School , and like the Grammar School is part of the Queen Mary's Foundation. The main body of the school is girls only, but the Sixth Form is open to applicants of both genders and is conditional on a minimum grade achievement at GCSE (no fewer than 5 GCSE's above 'B' Grade, including the subjects you wish to take).
The school is a

The school has recently been awardedMathematics and Computing College status as well.Average class sizes in lower school are about 24 girls.
The school is divided into houses named after famous 19th-century female authors - Austen (after
Jane Austen ), Bronte (afterCharlotte Brontë ) and Eliot (afterGeorge Eliot ).Unlike it's sister school
Queen Mary's Grammar School , the buildings of Queen Mary's High School are of a listed status. However, whilst technologically the school may not be lacking (for instance each classroom is equipped with interactive SMART Boards), the school buildings and site are very cramped, so much so, that forPhysical Education lessons pupils have to board a coach to the boys school, a 5 minute drive away, which is of a modern build and is surrounded by its own large field.References
