He is one of a few players to have scored more than one 147 in tournament play. He has reached the last 32 of eight tournaments, including the 1991 and 2001 World Championship, but never progressed beyond this stage. He was the first player ever to beat Cliff Thorburn in a World Championship qualifier, which he did in 1991.
