Charles David Whitehurst (born April 27, 1955 in Baumholder, Germany) is a former professional American football quarterback in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 8th round of the 1977 NFL Draft. A 6'2" quarterback from Furman University, Whitehurst played seven seasons with the Packers from 1977-1983. He was with the Kansas City Chiefs in 1984 but saw no action.[1][2] Whitehurst graduated from Walker High School in DeKalb County, Georgia in 1973 after stints as both starting quarterback and outstanding baseball player.
His son Charlie played quarterback for Clemson University and is currently the 2nd string quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks. He was recently traded to the Seahawks, and signed to a 2 year, $10 million contract. His daughter Carrie also played for Clemson, but in basketball.
