The Singing Girls of Texas

The Singing Girls of Texas is a choir based at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts in Texas, United States. The choir was founded in January 2001 when the new Academy was formed as a charter school by The Texas Boys Choir.

When the school opened, there were approximately 35 students. During the past five years, the school has grown to over 300 students serving grades 3-12. There are programs for choir, dance, theater, art, instrumental, and all of the required academic classes set by Texas Education Agency. The school continues to grow, and each division is expanding and setting new standards every year.

The Singing Girls of Texas is a choral ensemble consisting of girls from grades 9-12 at the school. They are bursting onto the choral scene in Texas and across the United States with their outstanding vocal blend, variety of repertoire, passion for music, and excellent presentation. In the fall of 2003, Mark L. Stamper became their Artistic Director. The choir is striving to perform as a nationally recognized professional girls' choir, and to train young musicians to become among the best in the world. The choir is committed to bringing fresh, new, and innovative literature to their audiences. The girls combine vocal excellence, charisma, and movement to create a concert that will inspire their audiences.

The choir has taken two national tours throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. They made their first international trip to Germany, Italy and Austria in the summer of 2007.
