Mark Richards (1760–1844) was a Vermont politician who was a member of the United States House of Representatives.
Born in Waterbury, Connecticut on July 15, 1760, Richards received limited schooling. He enlisted during the American Revolutionary War in 1776 and settled in Boston after the Revolution. Richardes was a member of the Vermont House of Representatives from 1801–1805; sheriff of Windham County 1806-1810; member of the Governor’s council in 1816.
Richards was elected as a Democratic-Republican to served in the as US House of Representatives from 1817-1821 as a member of the 15th and 16th United States Congress[1] and became the seventh Lieutenant Governor of Vermont in 1830. Richards died in Vermont.[1]
