Halley's Comet, I Didn't Know and Snootable Snunshine are three unreleased songs written by Richard Wright [http://www.mockingbirdfoundation.org/press/preorder.html] (aka Nancy Taube) for the band
Phish . All three of them are notable for their extensive vocal harmony. Notable versions of Halley's Comet include 12/07/1999, 11/11/1998, 11/22/1997, 08/03/1998, 09/18/2000, and 07/10/1998. The 07/10/1998 version opened the second set atZeleste , a club in Spain, after the first set was cut very short by a faulty PA. They reward the crowd with an 18-minute version, withMike Gordon performing exceptionally well in particular. This version is also the first live appearance of the main riff toFirst Tube , a song which wouldn't appear in public until the following year.* The Australian Band
Drops Of Light released the song Halley's Comet in 1986 through PG Records Melbourne. The song received extensive airplay on radio and television. The Giotto spacecraft which was following the comet also played a part in the song's video clip with space footage used in the clip. Channel 10 TV Station in Sydney Australia produced the clip which was aired on the show "GoodMorning Australia" in April 1986. "People" magazine then devoted a page to the band and the song. The song was written byVincent Ruello .
