1949 NBA Finals

6'10" George Mikan and the Minneapolis Lakers proved dominant in the first NBA finals. They routed the Washington Capitols in 6 games. 6'8" Dolph Schayes of Syracuse led his team out to the finals after a 16.8 ppg average during the regular season. George Mikan, however, averaged 27.4 ppg and led the league, and the series winning the Lakers the first of several successive NBA titles. It was the beginning of the George Mikan and the Lakers Dynasty. -
