July 29 ,1925 inSalt Lake City, Utah ) is a retired Americanbasketball player in college and the BAA and NBA.Ferrin attended high school in
Ogden, Utah . In college with theUniversity of Utah , he won theNCAA Basketball Tournament Most Outstanding Player award in 1944 when they won the championship overDartmouth College . He would also later help them win a NIT in 1947. He became the only four-time All-American at Utah.He played professionally for three straight years with the Minneapolis Lakers from 1949 through 1951 under coach
John Kundla . The team won the BAA (later the NBA) championship in 1949 and won the NBA championship in 1950, both times with the help of Ferrin. He scored 345 points in '49 and 340 in '50, ending his career with 509 points in three years. He made 275-of-401free throw s in his career.External links
