Kenneth Macksey (
July 1 ,1923 -November 30 ,2005 ) was a British author and historian who specialized inmilitary history and militarybiography , particularly ofWorld War II . Macksey served inWorld War II under the command ofPercy Hobart , later writing the (authoritative) biography of that leader. Additionally, Macksey wrote two volumes ofalternate history , one dealing with the (successful) invasion of England by Germany in 1940 (Operation Sea Lion ), and the other describing aNATO -Warsaw Pact clash in the late 1980s. The latter book was done under contract to theCanadian Forces and featuresCanadians as the primaryprotagonists .In Macksey's "Guderian - Panzer General", he also refuted the view of historian Sir
Basil Liddell-Hart regarding Hart's influence on the development of German Doctrine in the years leading up to 1939.Publications
