high school in the Lawrence Park neighbourhood ofToronto . It is home to the city's first band and orchestral programme, and is considered one of the foremost public high schools in the city. Lawrence Park is very proud of the fact that it still is able to offer all three streams of music, Band, Strings and Vocal. It has become the school of choice in the North Toronto area for students looking to study music at a higher level. The Lawrence Park School Song was written by renowned Canadian Composer, Howard Cable. It is a non-semestered school and focuses mainly on academics, music and drama, featuring strong French extended and immersion streams. As well, it offers courses such as Latin, German, computer studies and a variety of courses in the social sciences.Like its academic program, Lawrence Park's extracurricular options are impressive both in range and quality. Complementing a strong academic and extracurricular base is the school's co-operative education program. Co-op students benefit each year from an array of placements, making essential connections between the classroom and the world of work.
During their years at Lawrence Park, students will have had many opportunities to learn through extra-curricular activities sponsored by the school and by members of the community.
The vast majority of graduating students go on to
university orcommunity college s, so most courses are offered at the university preparation level. The school motto is "Amor doctrinae floreat" or "Let the love of learning flourish".
