Australian hard rock bandAC/DC . It is the fourth track of their Australian album "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", released in September 1976, and was written byAngus Young ,Malcolm Young , andBon Scott .It is also the fifth track on the international version of "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", released in November 1976. The international version was not released in the
United States until April 1981. A shortened version was also the fifth track on some versions of "Let There Be Rock ", released in June 1977, replacing "Crabsody In Blue " from that album's Australian version.During live performances, Scott would sometimes introduce the song by saying it was about Angus Young.
Composition
The song is written from the point of view of an extremely
anti-social ,violent person. This person threatens the use ofknives andguns , drinksalcohol , and challenges thepolice , amongst othervices . While the speaker does nothate everything, he promises to violently oppose anything he dislikes.Live recordings
"Problem Child" has been included on two official AC/DC live albums, 1978's "
If You Want Blood You've Got It " and "Live from the Atlantic Studios ", the latter being recorded in 1977 and later released as part of 1997's "Bonfire" box set. (It also saw limited release in 1977 as a promo sent toradio station s). Both versions featureBon Scott onlead vocals .A live version was performed with Brian on vocals on the "stiff upper lip live" dvdPersonnel
