(1982)The Church's second album, The Blurred Crusade shows a marked change of direction from the
new-wave leanings of the band's debut. While still dominated primarily by Kilbey's songwriting, the music shows more of a resurgent 1960s psychedelia and the beginnings of guitarists Koppes' and Willson-Piper's trademark interplay. The album's first single, "Almost With You," is often considered one of the group's most characteristic songs. Two band compositions, "An Interlude" and "You Took," have seen frequent inclusion in setlists throughout the band's career. Both the band itself and a large section of the fanbase cite the album as one of the Church's finest.Track listing
