April 2 ,1982 in Winnipeg,Manitoba ) is a Canadian professionalice hockey goaltender. He was drafted ninth overall by the Flames in the2000 NHL Entry Draft . Krahn played with theCalgary Hitmen andSeattle Thunderbirds of the WHL before moving on to professional hockey, where he spent time with theSan Antonio Rampage ,Lowell Lock Monsters ,Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights , and finally with theQuad City Flames where he last played professionally. He is currently signed with the Dallas Stars, where he is expected to play behind Marty Turco and Tobias Stefan.On
April 22 ,2007 , the Calgary Flames called up Krahn from Omaha to back up their starting goaltender,Miikka Kiprusoff , after the Flames regular back-up goalie,Jamie McLennan , received a five-game suspension for a slash onDetroit Red Wings forward Johan Franzen in the final minutes of the Flames 5–1 loss to Detroit in game five of their first-round series of the2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs . Krahn did not play any minutes in game six, the Flames last of the playoffs due to their 2–1 loss to the Red Wings in double overtime.Following the
2007-2008 NHL season and after 8 years of development in theCalgary Flames organization, the Flames decided to not bring back Krahn for another season.The
