Lunawada is a city and a municipality in Panchmahal district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Lunawada stated name from the Luneshwar Mahadev temple. Lunawada gets its fresh water from Panam river. Places to see are Luneshwar Temple, Hanumaan ni Veari, Kakachiya Triveni Sangam, Panam Bridge, Fateh Baug, Fuvara Chawk,Indira Gandhi Stadium, .

Lunawada was founded by maharaja vir bhadra singh as the virpur state and after that it had been converted to LUNAWADA state. The last ruler of LUNAWADA was MAHARAJA VIR BHADRA SINGH. The best historical place near lunawada is KALESHWARI where you can find healthy atmosphere as well as PANDAV CHORI / FOOT PRINT OF BHIMA / VERY OLD WATER KUND / TWO VAAV in which one you will find always dirty and one you will find always clean and Lord shiva temple.

Lunawada covered by three river from every entry of the town with VERI,PANAM and MAHI SAGAR. There are two lake which is KISHAN SAGAR and VASANT SAGAR. This is the only place where u will find healthy atmosphere and good place to see.

As of 2001 India census, [GR|India] Lunawada had a population of 33,381 and 3rd biggest city in Panchamahals district. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Lunawada has an average literacy rate of 76%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 82%, and female literacy is 70%. In Lunawada, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.Lunawada is an art love city since it has been founded, totally surrounded by wall made by king. The Main occupation here is business because there is no industrial area.The Maharaja Palace is also very good place to visit. lunawada is famous for their food. atmosphere has been very nice in lunawada. you could have coverage of Vodafone, Idea, Airtel, Reliance and BSNL.lunawada belongs to different religion. hindu and Jain are the main religion. Lunawada is belonging to Leua Patel, Kshtriy and Brhamin. Large part of lunawada covered by dawoodi bohra shiia muslim, A peaceful traders community and speared to middle east mainly in UAE and Kuwait.

People of all religion and cast live in harmony and peacefully which create a healthy environment for business. Good infrastructure supported by number of hospitals, schools, banks, shops and colleges.
