Illinois Route 98 is a minor east-west state road in central Illinois. It begins as northern Pekin's Edgewater Drive (near the Chateau Restaurant, Pekin's Auto Row, and the Kerasotes Showplace 14 movie theatre), connecting Illinois Route 29 in Pekin with Interstate 155 in Morton.The Village of Groveland lies about halfway between Pekin and Morton at the intersection with Springfield Road. Illinois 98 is a two lane, undivided highway for its entire length.

History

SBI Route 98 was the current U.S. Route 136 from Macomb to Havana. It was dropped in 1937, and in 1939 placed on its current routing.
