David Fowler (politician)

David Fowler (born 1958) was a Tennessean politician and a member of the Tennessee Senate for the 11th district, which comprises part of Hamilton County.[1]

Biography

David Fowler was born on June 30, 1958 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a B.S. in 1980, and with a J.D. from University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1983.[1]

He was a state senator from the 99th Tennessee General Assembly until the 104th. He chaired the Senate Environment, Conservation and Tourism Committee and a member of the Senate Fiscal Review Committee, the Senate Fiscal Review Committee, the Senate Judiciary Committee, the Joint Education Oversight Committee, and the Joint Select Oversight Committee on Corrections.

He taught Law and Government at Bryan College for four years.[1]

A social conservative, he is the president of the Family Action Council of Tennessee (FACT), an organization associated with the Focus on the Family.[1][2]

He also works as an attorney at the law firm of Spears, Moore, Rebman, and Williams.[1] He lives in Nashville.[1]
