Little Mill

Little Mill is a village in Monmouthshire, south east Wales, United Kingdom. The village has grown in size in recent years and has as a result a population of over 1,000.

Location

Little Mill is located three miles north east of Pontypool, Torfaen and three miles west of Usk [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/468494] .

History & Amenities

The village derives its name from a watermill that was situated in the village [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/280350] . Even today Little Mill is relatively small and mostly contains Victorian cottages and villas and 1950s and 1980s housing developments.

The village has a pub, a telephone box and a village hall which has several groups affiliated with it. The village has a railway line going through it, but the nearest stations being Pontypool and New Inn and Cwmbran. The village is in the catchment area for several schools including Usk primary and Goytre Fawr primary school as well as several comprehensive schools including Caerleon Comprehensive School and King Henry VIII School Abergavenny.

The village contains many local parks including what is locally know as the "pocket park", "the two swings" and "the big park". The village's main meeting points are the pub and the village hall which has recently been repainted.
