The game’s development time frame has yet to be fully confirmed, however, the designer wishes to have the game ready for launch in the Summer of 2009. As for the development side of the project, no other partner has yet joined an agreement to work with the project due to the delays that are reoccurring from each developer who has taken the project onboard in the past.Gameplay
The game play within the project consists of different variants. Through the Career option, game play varies as each step or level of the lifetime career allows for the user to race, manage and design. These levels are with promotions throughout the game, within career the user will be able to compete for the world championship position through karting, ultimately leading to promotion into circuit racing and then after game time (users lifetime) drag racing then onto managing a racing company or a car company were the user has full marketing and design control over all cars. The online variant consists of drag racing, allowing users all around the world to race, share, show off and compete for the leader boards. The user lifetime feature isn’t existent in the online part, and as a result, it is more open for users who enjoy straight to action game play. The online variant also allows for friends, teams, online dealerships and much more, however many of the features are disclosed until release of the game.
Marketing Campaign
According to the designer, the marketing campaign known as Green Light will be a planned out campaign that will see launches of the official website, the public beta, advanced previews, developer and designer diaries straight from a blog. Much more has been planned including trailers and screenshots with monthly updates on the projects overall develpoment. Test Drive is the public beta version of Speed Check, with an expected release of late 2008. The beta will not contain any online capabilities and will only allow for drag racing against a computer UI in an arcade feature mode exclusively for the demo.
