New York State Route 20C was a predominantly east-west state highway in Ontario County that connected U.S. Route 20 to the then-separate villages of Bloomfield and Holcomb by way of Main Street and Maple Avenue in Bloomfield and Holcomb. At its greatest extent, NY 20C's western terminus was at NY 64 in East Bloomfield, a mere 50 yards north of where NY 64 joins US 20 and NY 5 for a three-mile, three-route concurrency. Its eastern terminus throughout its existence was at the aforementioned concurrency south of Holcomb two miles to the east of the western terminus.

NY 20C was assigned prior to 1947 and removed from the state highway system in 1997, at which time the Maple Avenue portion of the route was redesignated as the southernmost part of NY 444. Although the Main Street section of NY 20C has no reference route designation or touring route number, it, like Maple Avenue, officially remains a state highway.

Route description

Route 20C began at an intersection with Route 64 in East Bloomfield. 20C, known as West Main Street, then paralleled Routes 20, 5 and 64 into Bloomfield. A few local roads intersected Route 20C in Bloomfield, including South Avenue, which intersects Routes 20, 5, and 64 soon after. 20C continued northeast to Holcomb and turned south onto Maple Avenue in the center of the village. Soon after exiting the Holcomb village limits, 20C came to an end at Routes 20, 5 and 64 in East Bloomfield. History

A loop route off of U.S. Route 20 connecting it to the Ontario County villages of Bloomfield and Holcomb was designated as NY 20C by 1947. The route remained unchanged until 1990, when NY 20C was truncated on its western end from NY 64 to the Four Corners of Holcomb (the intersection of Main Street and Maple Avenue), leaving only the Maple Avenue portion designated. Although no reference route or touring route was ever assigned to the Main Street portion of NY 20C after the 20C designation was removed from it, the roadway is still officially a state highway as it was never removed from the portion of New York State Highway Law that defines state-maintained highways.
