Holly Grainger

Holly Grainger (born 1988 in Didsbury, Manchester, England) is an English actress best known for playing parts in award-winning productions such as "The Rottentrolls", "The Missing Postman" and "Sparkhouse".

Biography

Grainger is the daughter of Irish actor Gawn Grainger. As a pupil of The Parrs Wood Technology College she gained two 'A's (biology and English language) and two 'B's (English literature and general studies) in her A-levels in August 2006 as well as an 'A' in AS level Spanish, having aleady achieved three 'A*'s and eight 'A's in her GCSEs. Career

Grainger first started acting aged 5. In 1994 she appeared in "All Quiet on the Preston Front". Her acting CV since then has included, for the most part, TV dramas and comedies, such as "Roger and the Rottentrolls" (1996), and "Daddy Fox" (2000) as well as having minor roles in the dramas "Casualty" (2000), "Doctors" (2001), "Dalziel and Pascoe" (2001), "The Royal" (2003), "No Angels" (2005) and most recently, "Waterloo Road" (2007).

She also appeared in the TV dramas "The Missing Postman" (1997), "Sparkhouse" (2002), and "The Illustrated Mum" (2003).

In 2003, she landed the part of Megan Boothe in "Where the Heart Is". She left the role in 2005 and the character was played by Holly Lucas in the 2006 series. In 2007 she appeared in a TV adaptation of "Johnny and the Bomb", the ITV1 production of "The Bad Mother's Handbook" based on the best-selling novel, along with roles in "New Street Law" and "Billy Goat", part of the BBC1 " Fairy Tales" series. Holly will next be seen in "Dis/Connected". She is close to completing work on her debut movie "Awaydays" and is about to start filming her 2nd film "The Scouting Book For Boys".
