Fatih Sonkaya (born July 1, 1981 in Oltu) is a football defender for FC Porto and Turkey.

Although born in Turkey and of Turkish nationality, Sonkaya spent most of his youth in Heerlen, Netherlands where he, together with his older brother Özcan, played soccer at RKSV Heerlen. He started his professional career at Roda JC in 1998, and in 2004 transferred to Beşiktaş in his homeland. On some soccer websites he and his brother are sometimes confused, placing Oscan at Roda JC, while Fatih was viewed as playing for MVV.

In 2005-06, Sonkaya moved to Portuguese club FC Porto, and collected a championships medal with FC Porto and added the Portuguese Supercup, albeit playing sparingly. The following season he was loaned to Académica de Coimbra also in Portugal, appearing in 4 league contests.

Sonkaya is a full Turkish international since 2003, and appeared twice for the national side in the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup, as Turkey finished third.
