George F. Cram

George F. Cram

George F. Cram (1842-1928), served in the U.S. Army during the American Civil War. After the war ended, Cram joined his uncle's map business in 1867. Two years later, he formed the George F. Cram Co. which became a leading map firm and first American firm to publish a world atlas. It employed a relief process.
