- Loxstedt railway station
Loxstedt is the name of a
railway station on theBremerhaven -Bremen line in northwesternGermany . The station is situated in the town ofLoxstedt , in the Cuxhaven district ofLower Saxony .The station was opened in 1847 as part of the Bremen to Wulsdorf railway line. In 1966, the railway line was electrified.
The station today
RegionalBahn trains from Bremerhaven to Bremen call at the station. It features apark and ride facility and abus stop. Park and ride facilities were added in the 1990s and 2000s, the station is supposed to undergo further remodeling, including raising the platforms, for theBremen S-Bahn scheme. Access to the platforms is currently provided by alevel crossing on the southern side of the station.Loxstedt is an example for a category 6 railway station (the lowest category in
