University of Minnesota Duluth where he led theNCAA in goals (32) and points (63) during the 2003–04 season, numbers that would be good enough to win theHobey Baker Award . He also led the WCHA in the same categories with 19 goals and 39 points in conference play.On April 15, 2004, after winning the Hobey Baker Award in his senior season, Lessard signed a free agent contract with the
Dallas Stars . He made his NHL debut for the Stars during the 2005–06 season. Lessard was traded to Tampa Bay onJanuary 15 ,2008 in exchange forDan Jancevski . Lessard is currently playing for theAtlanta Thrashers after signing a contract with the club on July 9th, 2008.Awards & Achievements
