William Tandy Senter was an American politician that represented
Tennessee 's second district in theUnited States House of Representatives . He was born atBean Station, Tennessee onMay 12 ,1801 . He attended thecommon school s, held several local offices, and engaged in agricultural pursuits. He was a minister in the Holston Conference of theMethodist Episcopal Church, South . He was a member of the State constitutional convention, which met atNashville fromMay 19 toAugust 30 ,1834 .He was elected as a Whig to the Twenty-eighth Congress, which lasted from
March 4 ,1843 toMarch 3 ,1845 . He resumed agricultural and ministerial work and died at Panther Springs,Hamblen County, Tennessee onAugust 23 ,1848 . He was interred at Senter Memorial Church Cemetery.External links
