Throughout his illustrious career he turned out for numerous top European teams, winning the Champions League twice (withRed Star Belgrade andJuventus F.C. ). He is regarded as one of the finest central midfielders that Serbia has ever produced.Before coming to Red Star he played for FK Trstenik and was loaned to FK Rad from Red Star in season 1989/90.After estabilishing himself with FK Crvena Zvezda (Red Star), with whom he won the 1991 European Cup beating
Olympique de Marseille in the final and International Cup beating Colo-Colo from Chile in a match in which he scored the opening two goals, he moved on to Italian sideU.C. Sampdoria , in 1992. He spent 3 successful seasons at Sampdoria, before he was bought by Juventus F.C.. In two seasons at Juventus, he won the scudetto, as well as the UEFA Champions League. In the final, against Dutch side AFC Ajax, he scored the decisive penalty. Jugovic moved toS.S. Lazio in the 1997/1998 season, thenAtlético Madrid the following year, before settling inInternazionale Milano F.C. in 1999, where he spent two seasons. Jugovic finished his career inLR Ahlen , after stints inAS Monaco FC , andVfB Admira Wacker Mödling .References
