Men of the Hour Productions was created in April 2004 as a means of establishing lines of communication for independent film making in the
Australian Capital Territory . The team at Men of the Hour offer their services for local website production and were responsible for establishing several community websites. Men of the Hour continues to spread the news of any local film production, including Men of the Hour Productions, Goldfish Productions and just emerging Did Rain Productions, as well as the first Who Wants to Direct film festival in 2005.A Brief History
Men Of The Hours Productions began as a college production group between three friends who produced several short experimental films involving in-camera editing. The group went on to record and produce a music single to dedicate a special 18th birthday celebration. The first official film produced in 2002 entitled "
Bookmasters " about a librariansuperhero , gained acult following in the local college community, leading the way for what was to come in future productions. Later that year, Daniel Sanguineti’s long awaited vision of "Space Bunnies " was completed. "Space Bunnies " followed a Year 12 student’s adventure through his own imagination and how it can lead you astray.A Moth & A Goldfish
In 2004 Goldfish Productions teamed up with Men of the Hour Productions, to create the short film "Screwball". The indoor
soccer film was shot on a minimum budget over four weekends with a ten month production schedule. The result was a 20 minute production, involving over twenty actors, fifteen crew members and dozens of others who gave their generous time and support in bringing to life the vision of Daniel Sanguineti.Goldfish Productions and Men of the Hour followed "Screwball" by teaming up again to write, direct and produce "Epitaph", a film based around the notion of what it might be like to be the last soul on earth. The film was shot, edited and produced over a ten day period and was entered into short
film festivals including, "Lights! Canberra! Action!" where it received a finalist place.A Touch Of Courage
In 2005 Goldfish Productions and Men of the Hour Productions commenced pre-production on a full length feature film, "
A Touch of Courage ". Written, Directed, and Produced by Christopher Maher and Daniel Sanguineti, and starringKathryn Hind , Ryan d’Argeavel and Brett Arnott, the film chronicles the life of Susie Franklin, a student ofPhilosophy at Hard Knox University. Her final examination looms, but a strange and eccentric obsession with lamps, leads her on a truly frightening adventure into the deepest darkest depths of her own mind.The film was shot over a nine month period and included over 40 cast members, a production crew of approximately thirty and was shot entirely on location in and around the
Australian Capital Territory . "A Touch of Courage " is set to be completed in 2006.External links
