Scholastica is a private English-medium school in Dhaka, Bangladesh, offering preschool to A-level courses.

History

Scholastica was founded in 1977 in response to a need for a well-structured and organized school leaving course for Bangladeshi students, using English as the primary medium of instruction but placing equal emphasis on Bangla.

Campus

Scholastica's junior, middle and senior divisions are housed in several locations in the Dhaka neighborhoods of Dhanmondi, Gulshan and Uttara.

Curriculum

Scholastica offers a complete primary, elementary, secondary and high school program leading to the General Certificate of Education examinations which are conducted by the British Council in Dhaka. Scholastica’s curriculum has been designed to reflect the specific needs of Bangladeshi students keeping in mind their heritage, culture and national identity.

Beginning with the 2008-09 academic session, the school's O- and A-level examinations will be administered by Cambridge International Examinations, instead of Edexcel.
