The reformer
Raja Rammohun Roy died at Bristol on27 September 1833 and was first buried atStapleton , but was reinterred in 1843 in the newly laid out Arnos Vale cemetery under the mausoleum designed byWilliam Prinsep , which is a copy of a Bengali tomb orchattri (literally meaning umbrella).
