This double album live recording captures McLauchlan at the height of his storytelling powers. His rapport with the audience is intimate, humorous and genuine. With just Dennis Pendrith accompanying him on bass guitar and himself on acoustic guitar, harmonica and vocals, the beauty of McLauchlan's songs - sometimes tender, sometimes stark - shines through in every note. Almost impossible to find, Only The Silence Remains should be added to the collections of all music listeners who appreciate the troubadours of the world.
