Kyle Krone

Kyle Krone (born Kyle James Krone, December 30, 1983) is the singer/guitarist and songwriter of the indie rock band The Shys. He is from Southern California.Bassist Alex Kweskin met him when they were in first grade at Concordia Elementary in San Clemente. He was taught to play guitar by guitarist Chris Wulff when they were thirteen, after Chris moved to their hometown. The three formed a band in highschool and Krone started writing and singing his own songs. After a three months of residencies in the Los Angeles Silverlake district clubs the band was signed by Sire Records.July 2006 the bands debut album Astoria came out to good reviews and made the band many new fans. URB Magazine said "Frontman Kyle Krone's voice is messianic enough to lead teenagers into their rebellious years".FILTER Magazine said "Their hybrid blend of classic American and British rock & roll. fight for melodic democracy and soulful sensibility". FLAUNT Magazine said "The Shys take a tried formula mainly used by British groups of the sixties and seventies Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Beatles, The Clash and turn it into something visceral, all their own".In interviews Krone has stated that his friends Delta Spirit and Robert Francis are his favorite new music. Since arriving on the scene in 2004 Krone's songs have appeared in popular television shows as well as major films. The Shys have recently released their self-produced sophomore album entitled "You'll Never Understand This Band The Way That I Do"Aeronaut Records on July 22nd of 2008. Krone recently said his biggest personal heros are Joe Strummer, Frank Lloyd Wright, Ray Kappe, and Ian Fleming.
