Tony Cupito

Anthony Wayne Cupito (born September 13, 1985) is the drummer for the indie rock band The Shys. He is credited as the drummer on the band's new album "You'll Never Understand This Band The Way That I Do".

Cupito grew up in San Clemente, California, just a few years behind his future band mates Kyle Krone, Alex Kweskin, and Chris Wulff. Cupito joined the group in early 2007 after the departure of original drummer Mike Walker. It is said that he met most of the members of the band by going to their concerts and they remembered each other from San Clemente. Cupito has a reputation as a phenomenal live drummer, "among the best drummers you'll ever see" said Las Vegas publication Mojo Republik.Fact|date=September 2008

Cupito's influences include Foo Fighters, U2, Radiohead, and Tom Petty. His band mate singer Kyle Krone has said in interviews that Cupito is said to spend much of his time in his home studio working at the craft of recording and mixing music.

Cupito has played with many bands throughout his teens but most notably The Shys. During live concerts he will occasionally be joined for a song by friend and fellow drummer Brandon Young of the San Diego Indie rock band Delta Spirit. Cupito is quoted in an interview with Rock Remedy Dot Com saying if he could play any other instrument than his own it would be the piano.Fact|date=September 2008
