"Asian Boston" is a magazine published by Leo Anthony Ballou. The first issue hit the stand in February 2006. This 40-page-length magazine is similar to its thicker, glossier versions; it contains pictures of provocative and scantily-dressed Asian women, interviews with Asian bands and comedians, and beauty tips. Pictures of female Asian models has stirred controversy among the Asian American community.

Controversy

Upon publication of its first issue, the magazine fell under sharp criticism by leaders of the Asian American Community. Filled with pictures of scantly-dressed female asian models, the magazine was accused of propagating the hyper-sexualized image of asian females. Although Ballou claimed that he merely wanted "celebrate" local Asian culture, his magazine ignored any issues that are relevant to the Asian American Community. POV-statement|date=December 2007
