University of Waterloo Faculty of Environmental Studies

The Faculty of Environmental Studies is one of six faculties at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Currently home to 1,100 undergraduate students, 200 graduate students, and 50 faculty members, the Faculty is growing in both undergraduate and graduate enrollment.

Co-op education, whereby students alternate 4 months in school with 4 month paid work terms in jobs relating to their program, is a major feature of the Faculty. Co-op students can earn up to $45,000 through their work terms and graduate with nearly 2 years of paid work experience.

The Faculty's [http://www.fes.uwaterloo.ca/research research centres and groups] include: Adaptation and Impacts Research Group, Canadian Cryospheric System (CRYSYS), Ecological Restoration Group, Ecoplan China, Heritage Resources Centre, Mid-size City Research Centre, Parks Research Forum of Ontario (PRFO), Residential Energy Efficiency Project (REEP), State of the Canadian Cryosphere, Sustainable Energy Research, Transportation Research Group (TRG), and Waterloo Laboratory for Earth Observations (WatLEO).
