MS Vision of the Seas

MS "Vision of the Seas" is a "Vision"-class cruise ship for Royal Caribbean International, the last of her class. Her maiden voyage was on May 2, 1998, following which she sailed for a year in Europe. Thereafter she operated along the west coast of the North America, sailing to Alaska and the west coasts of Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Central America.

On March 14, 2007, Royal Caribbean announced that beginning in 2008, "Vision of the Seas" would provide seven-night cruises from Los Angeles to Mexico year-round. Because of her diesel-electric propulsion, she will be replaced with the "Radiance of the Seas", which has gas-turbine propulsion, and will cause less impact on the Alaskan environment.

Features

Though lacking many new features unveiled over the last 10 years, the "Vision" is still able to provide an entertaining guest experience.
* Rock-climbing wall, which is found on each Royal Caribbean ship
* Themed bars and lounges, including a Champagne bar, and the Viking Crown, a bar and lounge overlooking the ship
* Casino Royale, which is open whenever the ship is within clearance limits from land
* Open Atrium, called the Centrum, where the Pursor's Desk, Internet access, library, card room, Crown and Anchor Study, and other features are located
* Indoor/outdoor pool in a Solarium with a sliding roof, which is open to guests age 16 and over.
* Outdoor pool, which must be emptied at certain points due to health codes
* 6 whirlpools, 2 indoor, 4 outdoor
* Youth facilities, including Adventure Ocean for kids, and FantaSeas arcade and teen lounge
* Day Spa and Fitness Center
