Paterswolde (coord|53|9|N|6|34|E|type:city(3760)) is a town in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Tynaarlo, and lies about 8 km south of Groningen.

The statistical area "Paterswolde", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 3760.Statistics Netherlands (CBS), [http://statline.cbs.nl/ "Statline: Kerncijfers wijken en buurten 2003-2005"] . As of January 1, 2005.]

A small part of the village, on the south end of the lake Paterwoldsemeer, lies in the province of Groningen, in the municipality of Haren.
