The 39th Personnel Support Battalion is the new name for the Deployed Forces Support Unit, based in Sydney, Australia. It was formally renamed on August 8th 2006 at Melbourne's Shrine of Remembrance in a special ceremony. This is the first unit since World War II to bear the name of the 39th Battalion.
The unit forms part of the current Australian 17th Brigade.
