Magaluf (Catalan pronunciation: [məɣəˈɫuf]; also spelled Magalluf, IPA: [məɣəˈʎuf]) is a major holiday resort on the Spanish island of Majorca, primarily catering for the British, German and Scandinavian package holiday market. Magaluf is in the municipality of Calvià and is situated within a group of towns, primarily Torrenova and Palma Nova. The main airport of Majorca is approximately 24 kilometres (15 mi) away from Magaluf.
Swedish pop artist Orup sang about the resort in 1992 in the song "Magaluf". English punk band, The Toy Dolls, wrote I had enough o' Magaluf.

Resort
The resort comprises one beach, lined with small bars and tourist shops backed by hotels. The largest tour companies include Thomas Cook and Thomson. The resort caters for both young parties as well as families, with peak season during July and August. The winter season (November through March) sees the population of Magaluf dive to 4,355 [1] local residents, with most resort and package-based hotels closing their doors. Neighbouring Palma Nova is more popular with families. This resort is well-known for its 18-30's holidays.
Nightlife
There are many bars and nightclubs in Magaluf and many DJs have played at the resort including David Guetta, DJ Sammy, Freemasons, Greg James, Judge Jules, Tiesto, Pat Sharp, and Tim Westwood. Night-life in Magaluf is centred around the Punta Ballena strip, where most of the night clubs and bars are. BCM is the largest nightclub on the island and is located on the Avenida S'Olivera. The club comprises of two floors, the lower of which (millennium) regularly puts on foam, popcorn and water parties. The club claims to feature "the world's biggest and most famous foam party" [2] In 2011 it Opened a brand new VIP Lounge where for an extra Fee you can get an at table service and sometimes a meet-n-greet the guest DJs. Behind BCM is BCM Square which hosts all major sporting events on the biggest HD Screen in Magaluf, the best place to watch football games, especially during England games when upto 5,000 pack the square to create an almost Stadium like atmosphere.
In 2010 Ibiza Rocks opened a sister hotel to the Ibiza Rocks Hotel, called the Mallorca Rocks Hotel[4] in the resort and started promoting live concerts there. UK band The Kooks opened the hotel in June 2010 and the venture appears to have been successful as the promoters introduced weekly live concerts in 2011 for 17 weeks. Mallorca Rocks is a weekly live music night taking place every Tuesday during the summer season at the Mallorca Rocks Hotel. The event has a capacity of 4,000 people and guests have included The Kooks, Calvin Harris, Tinie Tempah and Dizzee Rascal.

Water park
The Western Water Park is located is located on the outskirts of Magaluf and is based on theme of the old wild west offering a full variety of water rides, as well as live shows, diving exhibitions, falconry and facilities such as food outlets.

- Pirate's Adventure - A Dinner show at a purposely built theatre located in Magaluf.

A popular challenge for tourists is a swim to Black Lizard Island (Isla de sa Porrassa) located in the centre of Magaluf Bay. The island is known by this name due to the very high number of black lizards that can be found scurrying away during one's climb. The island is situated right in the centre of Magaluf bay and is approximately 400 m away from the beach front.
