Academy of International Business (AIB) is the leading association of international business scholars and specialists. Established in 1959, it has over 3000 members in about 72 countries. Membership is open to organizations as well as individuals. The objectives of the Academy of International Business are to foster education and advance professional standards in the field of international business [ [http://aib.msu.edu/aboutaibmission.asp AIB - Mission ] ] .

Publications

AIB publishes the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS). JIBS is the premier scholarly journal in the field of international business and is published eight times a year. JIBS is consistently ranked as one of the highest quality journals in the business and management fields [ [http://www.harzing.com/resources.htm#/jql.htm Harzing.com - Research in International and Cross-cultural Management ] ] . It is also highly rated by the Social Sciences Citation Index (2007: 2.283, 7th out of 72 in the Business category; 10th out of 81 in the Management category) [ [http://www.jibs.net/ Journal of International Business Studies ] ] .

AIB also publishes a quarterly newsletter, and the proceedings of its annual conference [ [http://aib.msu.edu/publications/ AIB - Publications ] ] .

Conferences

The Annual Meeting of the Academy of International Business is held each year in late June or early July. Due to AIB's geographically diverse membership, the location of its annual meeting rotates amongst the continents. The 2004 conference was held in Stockholm, with the 2005 conference in Quebec City, the 2006 conference in Beijing, and the 2007 conference in Indianapolis. The 2008 conference is scheduled to be held in Milan on June 30-July 3, 2008, where AIB will also celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Chapters

AIB currently has 14 Chapters [ [http://aib.msu.edu/community/chapterlist.asp AIB - List of Chapters ] ] , primarily organized around particular geographic areas to provide its members with additional opportunities for the exchange of ideas, for the presentation of research, and for professional contacts at geographically closer locations. Each chapter organizes an annual regional conference and may also publish its own newsletter and conference proceedings.

Affiliations

The AIB Foundation is a separate, incorporated not-for-profit entity that funds projects that advance the cause of international business [ [http://aib.msu.edu/aibfoundation.asp AIB - Academy of International Business Foundation ] ] . The Foundation solicits funds from AIB members, corporations, and other sources.
