Daniel "Danny" Holbrook Bolin a former U.S. soccer midfielder and current helicopter pilot in the United States Air Force. is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee. Bolin is a former soccer player and a current member of the United States Air Force. Bolin was a 2005 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A mid-fielder, he was among the first graduates of the USSF's IMG Soccer Academy in 1999, alongside international players such as Landon Donovan, DaMarcus Beasley, and Bobby Convey. He was also a member of the United States U-17 men's national soccer team during his time at IMG. He was an unused alternate for the U.S. team at the 1999 FIFA U-17 World Championship.[1]
Upon graduation from IMG Bolin opted for collegiate play at Wake Forest University. As a freshman, Bolin saw limited playing time and after a year chose to transfer to the USAFA to continue soccer. He graduate in 2005 and attended pilot training at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, GA. He flew the UH-1N at Yokota Air Base, Japan.[2] He is now stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ where he flies the HH-60G Pavehawk.
