Robert Aubrey Hinde CBE FRS FBA (born
26 October 1923 inNorwich ,England ) is theEmeritus Royal Society ResearchProfessor ofZoology at theUniversity of Cambridge . He was formerly the master ofSt. John's College, Cambridge . He is the chair of British Pugwash. He studies "the application of biological and psychological data to understanding the bases of religion and ethics" and "eliminating the causes of war". He is a Distinguished Supporter of the
