However, his time of 10.37 was the 7th fastest losing time, which was enough for advancing to the second round. There he improved his time to 10.33, but failed to qualify to the semi finals as he finished only in seventh place of his heat. Together withHank Palmer ,Pierre Browne andJared Connaughton he also competed at the4x100 metres relay . In their qualification heat they placed second behindJamaica , but in front ofGermany andChina . Their time of 38.77 was the fourth out of sixteen participating nations in the first round and they qualified for the final.
